Sharing God’s Love Through Puppet Shows
Half of the population in Cambodia is under the age of 25. This statistic makes reaching youth a critical part of LHM’s ministry efforts throughout the country. Working with pastors and principals, one way that LHM–Cambodia reaches the youth population is by hosting puppet shows in local schools. As children grow older, the LHM–Cambodia staff coordinates soccer competitions, Bible study groups, music concerts, and other events to stay connected and works with pastors and other Christian leaders to maintain ongoing relationships.
In March, the team in Cambodia had an opportunity to share God’s love with students and families at a school in Preah Vihea Province. They presented a puppet show based on the story of the Prodigal Son that allowed them to share the message of God’s grace and forgiveness in a fun
and meaningful way.
Approximately 250 students, teachers, and parents attended two separate programs. Following each presentation, LHM staff and volunteers distributed notebooks and booklets to help participants reflect on what they had heard and to learn more about the hope we have in Jesus Christ.
