LHM Ministry Response

Journey into Light (JIL), the Lutheran Hour Ministries (LHM) ministry center in Thailand, primarily concentrates on using mass media technologies to proclaim the Gospel to the Thai people and to support local churches and LCMS missionaries in the area of evangelism. LHM's work is rapidly expanding out of Bangkok into the central, southern, and northeast portions of Thailand.
LHM—Thailand broadcasts three different 25-minute programs each day that have been effective in touching people's hearts with the Gospel and the love of God. The ministry center uses radio drama to promote the use of tracts and Bible Correspondence Courses (BCC).
These BCCs are available to both children and adults who are interested in studying and gaining a foundational understanding of the grace and great love of Christ. They are also on the ministry's Web site and are the most successful of LHM's tools to bring God's Word to millions in Thailand.
The LHM—Thailand Web site features downloadable radio programs, dramas, and Christian music, as well as an online bookstore, and free booklets. It also encourages daily devotions through the World Wide Web.
Equipping the Saints (ETS) conferences led by LHM staff are equipping and engaging active lay people in churches to serve as LHM volunteers. ETS graduates often sign up to receive inspirational messages on their cell phones via text messages.
According to staff members, there is great potential for bringing the Savior to millions of Thai people who don't know Him. Currently, the government and people are quite open-minded and receptive to this message.
