Hispanic Heritage Month
EMBRACE LIFE
The beginning of Hispanic Heritage Month, celebrated in the United States from September 15 through October 15, coincides with Suicide Prevention Month, also known as Yellow September (Septiembre Amarillo).
The global statistics surrounding this crisis are alarming. Thoughts of ending one’s life affect millions of people around the world, regardless of age, nationality, religion, or social status.
For this reason, Lutheran Hour Ministries has chosen to unite the celebration of our Hispanic heritage with a call to reflect on our mental health and to make a greater effort to walk alongside those who need our support.
More than a slogan or an invitation, EMBRACE LIFE is the message shared by our PARA EL CAMINO, SENTIDO LATINO, and VIVENCIAR.NET teams. It is a call to trust in the promises of forgiveness, salvation, and eternal life that are found only in Jesus Christ; to face life with courage and strength even in the midst of difficulties; and to remember that God never leaves us alone.
Being Hispanic also means walking alongside one another—supporting each other, helping each other through life’s journey, falling and getting back up, and always moving forward. Likewise, our Hispanic heritage reminds us that asking for help when we need it, especially during seasons of weakness, is a sign of strength. Together, we can go farther in life’s journey.
EMBRACE LIFE is a reminder, now and always, that Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life (John 14:6).
Will You Pray With Us?

PARA EL CAMINO… Listen to Our Special Message
Our theme for Hispanic Heritage Month is “Embrace Life,” an invitation to find hope in Jesus Christ, even in the midst of despair and sorrow.
On life’s darkest days, some may believe that ending their life is the only way out. Yet Jesus offers a new purpose for this earthly life while securing for us the eternal life that never ends.
Listen to our special message.
