For God alone, O my soul, wait in silence, for my hope is from Him. He only is my Rock and my Salvation, my Fortress; I shall not be shaken. Psalm 62:5-6
Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ:
The salvation story of Jesus Christ reaches around the world. So that the readers of our Daily Devotion may see the power of the Savior on a global scale, we have asked the volunteers of our international ministry centers to write our Sunday devotions. We pray that the Spirit may touch your day through their words.
In Christ, I remain, His servant and yours,

A young woman, who was 20 years old, had been married for two years, when she found out her husband was cheating on her with another woman.
Insult was added to injury when she discovered that both she and the other woman were pregnant at the same time.
Halfway through her pregnancy, quite unexpectedly, the wife lost her baby. The doctors could give no explanation why the baby died. In contrast to the wife, the other woman had a good pregnancy, and her beautiful baby girl was born, without mishap.
It was incredibly difficult for this lady to understand why, all at the same time, she had to endure a cheating husband, a divorce, and the loss of a child.
She might have lived permanently in that confusion if the Holy Spirit had not used your people at Lutheran Hour Ministries-Nicaragua. God's work began to touch her life when she received a counseling session from an LHM volunteer. There she heard about the love of God as it was shown through His Son Jesus Christ, our Savior. With the support of her parents, she also received ongoing counseling from the LHM Ministry Center in Leon, Nicaragua.
This woman's life was wonderfully changed when she was brought to faith in Christ by the power of God's Spirit. He has brought about a remarkable transformation as this lady continued her education, became a professional person, and found a career in the labor market.
In her new job she has learned to share her story and tell others about the unique love, peace and hope that comes and transforms someone who has been given faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.
Today the woman in our story is a professional person. She has forgiven her old husband and has been blessed to find a new man whom she married. Their marriage has been blessed with two children.
Once upon a time she had wondered why she had to endure so much. Today she thinks more about the blessings God gives to His people. She gives thanks to the Lord for His kindness and nods in understanding when she hears the Scripture that says, "Commit your way to the Lord, trust also in Him and He shall bring it to pass" (Psalm 37:5).
All of us at Nicaragua's Lutheran Hour office pray that you, no matter your difficulties, may also trust in the Lord and know that He will help you with those burdens.
THE PRAYER: Dear Lord, I rejoice in all the blessings You have given to me through the Person of Your Son. Grant that I may do all I can to share with others His story of Your love, Your peace, and the hope which comes through the Christ. In His Name I ask it. Amen.
Biography of Author: Today's international devotion was written by Claren Zapata who works at the Lutheran Hour Ministries Office in Nicaragua. She started to serve as a volunteer many years ago. Today she is in charge of the area project in our ministry center. She also coordinates the visits that we do in the different schools, clinics, districts and rural villages.
Lutheran Hour Ministries-Nicaragua is known in-country as "Christ for All Nations" or Cristo Para Todas Las Naciones in Spanish. Launching its Gospel efforts in Chinandega in 1999, LHM-Nicaragua offers Project JOEL, an educational program helping children and young people make healthy lifestyle choices. High school and university students benefit from this program as well. Offering Equipping the Saints (ETS) evangelism workshops to facilitate Gospel conversations and Bible Correspondence Courses (BCC) to build up and edify students of Scripture, inroads are being made into people's lives with the Good News of salvation in Jesus Christ. Based today in Leon, this ministry center produces a weekly radio broadcast and 30-second on-air spots. These are augmented with "Radio Cristo Nica," an Internet and radio program dedicated to sharing the Gospel and helping others in this Central American country of six million people.
See how LHM-Nicaragua in its strategic alliance with that country's ministry of education is incorporating some of its printed materials in some schools to help with student orientation. You can check this out by clicking here and visiting this country's blog.
