For the time is coming when people will not endure sound teaching, but having itching ears they will accumulate for themselves teachers to suit their own passions. 2 Timothy 4:3
We all know that school is for readin' and writin' and 'rithmatic.
Most of us don't know that school is also a time to be rewarded for silence.
It's true, you know. Recently, Bedford High School in New Hampshire awarded credits for students who kept silent. That's right; there were credits for those who kept silent. This was not just any silence, you understand, but silence motivated by students who remained quiet all day in a show of support for homosexuality.
Amazing.
The separation of church and state demands that religion be kept out of the classroom. But the homosexual agenda is not only being acknowledged -- it is being supported -- at least in one school.
To their credit, parents have been upset about this program, "Real World Learning." They are upset because they weren't informed; they are upset because the program didn't include other alternative life styles like Christianity.
Now if you're also upset, you should know the school administration is now saying any student is eligible for credit if he or she attends civic meetings or participates in political events.
I'm not entirely sure that new position is an improvement over the old position.
Think about it: students getting credit for going to a Ku Klux Klan rally or a neo-Nazi meeting ... or ... well, you get the idea.
Paul was right. The time is coming when people won't want readin' and writin' and 'rithmatic. The time is coming when teachers are going to teach what seems to be expedient and politically correct.
Apparently, the time is not coming, it has arrived. This is why we need to do all we can to make sure our young ones know the truth of God's great and gracious love. We need to make sure they know the Savior who gave His life so they might have life and have it to the full.
THE PRAYER: Dear Heavenly Father, preserve our children from educators and schools that set You to the side and promote their own personal preferences. Grant all our young people may come to realize You alone are the Way and the Truth who offers salvation to all who believe. In Jesus' Name. Amen.
In Christ I remain His servant and yours,
