For as the rain and the snow come down from heaven and do not return there but water the earth, making it bring forth and sprout, giving seed to the sower and bread to the eater, so shall My Word be that goes out from My mouth; it shall not return to Me empty, but it shall accomplish that which I purpose, and shall succeed in the thing for which I sent it. Isaiah 55:10-11
Orissa, India is not a friendly place if you are a Christian.
During the past two years, hundreds of Christians have been murdered -- murdered only because they professed faith in the risen Redeemer.
Those who have survived have not had it easy.
• Thousands have had their homes destroyed.
• Others have had their businesses destroyed.
• Even more have had their freedoms restricted.
And what has been the result of these days of terror and nights of persecution?
It is as the Lord has said it would be.
God's Word is touching hearts and lives. Recently, in one district, 40 individuals declared their faith in the Savior. This kind of response was brought about as the Holy Spirit uses people to share the Savior's story of salvation.
Now, there are a number of reasons why I tell this to you.
First, there are times when it seems as if Satan is in control of things. Not so. He has his minor victories and miniscule conquests, but Jesus remains the ultimate Victor.
Second, although things in our country can get a little bit strange at times, the Lord is still blessing us big time. I encourage you: please make use of these opportunities to worship, to support missions, to share Jesus with those around you.
Lastly, please remember your brothers and sisters who are being persecuted for their faith. Ask the Lord to protect them and let the living Word use their lives as a bright beacon pointing souls to the crucified and risen Christ.
THE PRAYER: Dear Lord let Your Word accomplish Your purpose. Let all Your redeemed children make their witness to the Savior in whatever way they can. This I pray in the Name of Jesus. Amen.
In Christ I remain His servant and yours,
