You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do people light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a stand, and it gives light to all in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven. Matthew 5:14-16
On the way home from church, the little girl confessed that the pastor's sermon had given her some questions. "What kind of questions?" mom asked. "Well, Pastor said that God is bigger than we are. Is that true?" The mother replied, "Yes, God IS pretty big." "And," the little girl continued, "the pastor said that God lives in us. Is that true, too?" Again, the mother agreed. "Well," concluded the little girl, "if God is bigger than us and He lives in us, wouldn't He show through?"
That little girl has hit the nail upon the head. In this world, nothing is bigger than the Lord. Those who know Him and His great love--the people who have Him in their heart--let Him shine through in everything they do. They are proud to show off the Lord who has given them so much. Sadly, people don't always see God making much of a difference in the lives of Jesus' followers. That's why the question for our listeners has to be, "When people look at you, do they see our really big God shining through?" If they don't, it's time to let Jesus shine.

THE PRAYER: Dear God, when people look at my life, I want them to see You shining through. Thank you for all that You have done for me and for the salvation You give freely to those who believe in You. I am not ashamed to let my life reflect Your glory. In Jesus' Name, Amen.
In Christ I remain His servant and yours,
