Ephesians 6:10-11 "Be strong in the Lord and in His mighty power. Put on the full armor of God."
How much we rely on electric power in our homes! It can operate dozens of appliances to make life more comfortable and convenient. The light company makes a tremendous amount of power available. Yet we can choose not to use it. Then bulbs stay dark and appliances sit useless and silent.
Our Lord makes His mighty power available to us. He is anxious to pour it into our lives, but He doesn't force it on us. He waits until we are ready to receive and use it.
When we face drudgery, disappointment, or dismay, let us remember that God is with us. His almighty Spirit lives in us to strengthen us. We can be filled with the fullness of God! God has the power to do far more in us and with us than we ask or dream. Sometimes He lets us get weaker so that we turn to Him and rely on His strength.
Most of us have times when life seems more than we can handle. We may feel: I can't take it anymore; I can't stand it. We need to remind ourselves that God's strength is only a prayer away. We have constant access to this unfailing reservoir. Let us be strong and of good courage, aware that Jesus, the Lamb of God, has borne all our burdens.
PRAYER: Almighty Lord, fill us with Your power so that great things can happen in us and through us. Make us more useful to You. Amen.
