Nurturing Your Faith: Identity - Part Three (of 4): Part of the Community
By: Rev. Dr. John Nunes

As Christians we have fellowship with one another as children of God. In Nurturing Your Faith: Part of the Community, we see how believers identify as member of Christ's body, each possessing gifts to bless the kingdom of God. Called to faith by the Holy Spirit, we share the hope we have in Christ with others.
As members of the body of Christ, we rejoice in our shared life with others. Some of the ways we take part in this holy community is through Baptism, confirmation, Holy Communion, and the sharing of God's Word together. In these communal public blessings, the Holy Spirit calls, gathers, enlightens, and sanctifies us in the one true faith.
Also, as believers we are called to help expand God's community on earth. We do this in word and deed. By living out our faith, others are drawn to the cross of Christ by the Holy Spirit. As human divisions and loneliness are everywhere, our mission is plain. God can use us to reach others so they too receive the abundant life only He can give in Jesus.
