Nurturing Your Faith: God In Worship (Single Session study)
By: Rev. Dr. Jason BrogeIn Nurturing Your Faith: God in Worship, we see how God's presence is integral to His relationship with believers. This presence came to us fully in Jesus Christ, who died for our sins and who, today, is present with us when we come together to worship.
God's presence is spoken of in both the Old and New Testaments. His appearance may have been spectacular or subtle, but it was always there-leading, encouraging, and blessing His people. In time, a temple was built in Jerusalem where the Ark of the Covenant was brought and where the worship of God was centralized.
With the birth of Christ, God steps into our lives, taking on our very flesh. The separation between the Divine and human was eliminated in Jesus' life, death, and resurrection. Through Him we have complete access to God. Today, we partake of His life through Holy Communion and draw near to God in His Word and the fellowship of other Christians.
