James is a student who loves to play soccer. He lives in a poor area, and his family often cannot afford basic needs like food and medication. While he considered himself a Christian at one point, he went away from his faith at an early age when he started facing trials in his life. LHM—Kenya started a Project JOEL program in his region where they passed out backpacks to children. When he met the LHM staff and volunteers who were handing out the backpacks he heard the Gospel message and was interested in learning more about Jesus. Through the power of the Holy Spirit, he has started attending church services and programs to strengthen his faith. “I am filled with joy after receiving these learning materials,” says James. “I thank God for the opportunity to learn more about Jesus.”
