If your men's group hasn't brainstormed ideas yet for this year's Men's NetWork WORK DAY, now is a good time to start. Registration for group projects opens March 1 at the Men's NetWork website.
Hopefully, the idea behind WORK DAY projects is pretty clear. It's simply a chance for church men's groups (and other guys who are interested) to spend a few hours doing some good deeds in their neighborhoods and communities. Cleaning, hauling, chopping, painting, raking, planting, moving, digging, scrubbing, watering, feeding, washing, mowing, and hammering are a few of the things guys have done in the past. The jobs aren't complicated, but they make a huge difference in the lives of those receiving the work.
The main goal for WORK DAY projects is that they take place off the grounds of the church. We certainly understand churches require maintenance and upkeep, but to make WORK DAY an outreach kind of event, getting men's groups into the community is a big part of it.
To encourage that, the Men's NetWork will recognize five different men's groups with its first-ever LHM Neighborhood Service Award. Winners' projects will be notable for their impact on neighborhood and/or community concerns. For their outreach focus, selected groups will receive a $100 VISA gift card to use as they choose.
Men's NetWork WORK DAY 2020 registration opens March 1.
