Men's NetWork WORK DAY Suggestions - SERVE-AT-HOME Ideas
List of ideas for serving your neighbor during a time of social distancing (borrowed from various sources):
Leave notes on your neighbors' doors with contact information offering your assistance if needed.
Text/contact neighbors to see if they need help with any errands such as picking up medicine or groceries.
Organize a backyard BBQ where everyone is outside at the same time, but in their own backyards.
Collect food for your neighborhood or community food pantry.
Take a walk around the neighborhood looking for evidence of neighbors needing help: (newspapers not taken in, yard work needing done, trash flowing over) and leave a note offering help.
Volunteer to take a shift to help deep clean a non-profit or community-run facility (local school, library, community center, food pantry, etc.).
Share encouragement via social media and text and stay connected to them.
Take flowers or baked goods to a local nursing home to cheer up the residents, since many cannot have visitors.
Purchase/collect for gift cards to give to medical professionals and other emergency workers who are working extra hours in dangerous situations.
Write letters of encouragement to friends/family far away.
Organize a "church parade", driving through neighborhoods to greet and encourage those in the community.
Equip your local Christian non-profit with LHM's Project Connect booklets and children's booklets to include in their food giveaways or deliveries.
Offer prayers and financial assistance to those who have been furloughed or lost their jobs.
