2020 Lenten Devotions Celebrate God's Acts of Liberation
In Deliver Us: Jesus Sets Us Free, LHM's 2020 Lenten devotions, we rejoice in Jesus' victory over the dark forces of death at Calvary. We also view His triumph in relation to God's freeing of Israel from Egypt's bondage. Through Moses, God set His people free for the Promised Land; through Jesus, God redeems them for eternity.
Deliver Us: Jesus Sets Us Free was written by LHM's Theological Writer Dr. Kari Vo. She worked with Lutheran Hour Speaker Rev. Dr. Michael Zeigler. He wanted to explore the relationship between the Exodus and Christ's Passion. The result is a seasonal devotion of great depth and insight, showing the reader how God is always about the act of setting His people free.
Be sure to make Deliver Us: Jesus Sets Us Free part of your Lenten meditations. Reflection questions help springboard to other ideas, and they're ideal as discussion starters for small groups. And don't forget LHM devos can be shared with others with just the touch of a button.
Throughout Lent, you can receive these devotions as a daily e-mail, beginning Ash Wednesday, February 26. You can download and print these devotions; this option includes a large-font text and bulletin inserts. You can listen to them as a podcast, too. Audio begins on February 26 with Rev. Dr. Michael Zeigler, Speaker for The Lutheran Hour, reading the devotions. You can find out more about these devotions by clicking here.
Por sus heridas fuimos sanados, the Spanish-language version, will be available to read online or can be received as a daily e-mail during the Lenten season, beginning on February 26. Audio availability begins that day as well with Rev. Héctor Hoppe reading the messages. LHM offers a print version for download, too. Find out more by clicking here.
