Men's NetWork Gives Back 2020
With COVID-19 still impacting our lives in many ways, some spontaneous kindness is in order. This year, from November 1 through the end of December, the Men’s NetWork is encouraging you to give back by paying it forward.
It might not be anything dramatic, but your little gesture could be the 2020 end-of-year boost someone needs during the trying holiday months of November and December. Just think: how can I make a difference in someone’s life today?
Showing goodwill to a stranger doesn’t take much. Here are some suggestions: paying for someone’s coffee; sending Christmas cards anonymously to neighbors with a crisp $5 bill inside; tipping drive-thru employees and handing them a copy of LHM’s Advent devotions; dropping off some baked treats to a mom who’s got her hands full with kids doing school at home.
Or perhaps doing something consistent is what you’re looking for. For instance, you can leave a copy at your front door of LHM’s 30 Days of Household Devotions booklet (cost: $1 each) with a note for each person who makes a drop-off at your house—the Amazon or FedEx driver; grocery store delivery person; the teenager who’s bringing the pizzas. Put a copy in your mailbox with a note for your mail-person, too.
It doesn’t take much to put a smile on someone’s face. A quick act of generosity will do the trick. You can pay the toll for the car behind you; leave some quarters in a washer or dryer at your local laundromat with a friendly note; or send some Christmas cards (goodies optional, but welcome) to our troops.
And don’t forget you can still do all the things that bless those right there in your neighborhood: raking leaves, shoveling snow, cleaning gutters, running errands, scraping ice off of frozen cars.
Giving back by paying it forward is fun and rewarding. For many, the end of the year with its two big holidays is far more stress and anxiety than fun and relaxation. Your simple act of kindness is one more way that God works in all our lives—through the small and seemingly insignificant things that bring a bright spot to someone’s day.

After you’ve done your good deed(s) for 2020, let us know. We’d like to send you a hat or a cap* for you to remember how good it felt to brighten someone’s day during the holidays.
