Nirina is 44 years old and works as a teacher at a private school. Early last year, a devastating landslide killed her husband and two children in their home. She felt like her life had been turned upside down. A few months later, Nirina tested positive for COVID-19. She had no one at home to help care for her, so she had to move into a facility where she was looked after until she healed. Even with all the trials she has faced this past year, Nirina never lost hope and her faith in Jesus was strengthened. Nirina is a member at the local Lutheran church and learned about LHM-Madagascar a few years ago at her church. Once she was released from the medical facility, she enrolled in LHM’s Bible Correspondence Courses and finished all the lessons. When she finished, she encouraged several others to enroll in the lessons as well. After telling her story to an LHM-Madagascar staff member, she shared that she believes God carried her through the difficult times because He has a special mission for her. She is happy to share her faith with others and encourages them to learn about Jesus as well.
