LHM Ministry Response
Ministry in Ghana:
Lutheran Hour Ministries (LHM)—Ghana, has embraced the music, dance, and storytelling aspect of Ghana's history by utilizing the performing arts in its ministry outreach.
One of the most popular performance ministries is the music ministry or, more specifically, The Harps. The Harps are a group both boys and girls, who use their voices to minister to the public through song. The LHM—Ghana director and programs manager plans and arrange musical programs for specific locations where The Harps will perform.
LHM—Ghana also finds success in its Equipping the Saints (ETS) ministry. ETS workshops provide evangelical training to community leaders and volunteers, enabling them to better communicate God's love to their friends and neighbors. Other successful areas of outreach include children's and prison ministries.
The children's ministry provides spiritual guidance for children in area schools, churches, and other locations where LHM—Ghana programs are available. Programs include various forms of religious, educational, recreational, sports, and social activities that help children by providing fun games, food, clothing, educational materials, sports kits and equipment, and children's Christian literature.
In its prison ministry, LHM—Ghana volunteers visit local prison inmates to share the Word of God and pray. When resources are available, LHM—Ghana supports the inmates with food items, Christian literature, and clothes.
