He will cover you with His pinions, and under His wings you will find refuge; His faithfulness is a shield and buckler. Psalm 91:4
Although it seems a long time ago, it was only 1991 when the world watched Iraqi Scud missiles streaking high over the Saudi Arabian desert.
These missiles were aimed at the forces allied against Iraqi leader Saddam Hussein.
Many were terrified as the Scuds raced across the night sky. The terror was set aside by surprise as a 17-foot-long rocket, the Patriot, rose up to meet the Scud. Three miles above the earth the two met and destroyed each other in an immense orange fireball.
Civilian lives and property were saved by an amazing bit of technology.
But there is no human technology that can intercept the Scuds of Satan.
The devil continuously launches missiles of depression, doubt, despair, and anger against this world. Designed to destroy, all too often those missiles land and spiritual death is the final result.
Now, if you feel those missiles are streaking toward you, I would encourage you to remember that the Lord has a counter weapon that has proven itself to be 100 percent effective.
God's love, in the person of Jesus, can seek out and destroy any missile that has been targeted against your life. Knowing there is a canopy of God's love over us can make our days easier and our night's sleep sounder.

THE PRAYER: Dear God, keep us in the safety of Your care wherever we go in this life. Grant those who live in fear today may be called to faith and put their faith in their Savior, who alone can win the victory over Satan. This we pray in His Name. Amen.
