"Help Is On Its Way-Fast"

Psalm 38:22 "Come quickly to help me, O LORD my Savior."

As a child I read a lot of science fiction. One of the things that most fascinated me was the aspect of traveling faster than the speed of light. I had no idea that light traveled so fast! I can remember trying to see light travel by standing in a dark room and turning a light on and off. Try it! Light travels fast!

The Creator of light also travels fast! God is lightening quick-especially with forgiveness. It may seem that God waits to forgive us until we actually confess our sins. But the Scriptures teach that God has actually forgiven us before we sin: "For He chose us in Him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in His sight" (Ephesians 1:4). Now that's fast!

Receiving God's forgiveness is fast! As fast as it takes to say "I'm sorry" is as fast as God grants the forgiveness won by Jesus on the cross so long ago. As fast as it takes to partake of the bread and wine, is as fast as God's forgiveness comes to us.

Now that's fast!
