John 16:13 "When He, the Spirit of truth, comes, He will guide you into all truth."
The work of the Holy Spirit in the world is to lead us into all truth. This is what our Lord said the Comforter would do for all believers. As long as the world lasts, we never have to be uncertain about anything belonging to our salvation. He will lead us into the truth.
Our Savior kept His promise. Yesterday, today, and tomorrow the Holy Spirit speaks to us constantly in the Word of God. When we hear the Word during worship or read it in our devotion time, the Comforter reaches through the words, takes us by the hand, and leads us into all truth.
And this truth will never die. Changing circumstances of life and history cannot touch it. It is proof against every storm. It is sure in the day of life and unbroken in the hour of death. It is the one great, unchanging fact in a world of change and decay.
It is always a dark hour for humanity when they forget the truth of God. That has happened in our time. We who believe have the responsibility to know the truth, to speak it whenever and wherever we can, and to bring it, with everything in our power, to the dark and lonely hearts of all people.
PRAYER: Lord, preserve Your Word and guide us in the truth so that we may see Your glory and Your power to save our souls. Amen.
