MAN OF SORROWS, PEOPLE OF JOY

Waiting. Hoping. Trusting. In the darkness of our lives, what do we have to hold on to? Jesus. The Lord has not forgotten us. He saw our need and came to save us.

During these weeks of Lent, we’ll see Jesus in action—teaching, healing, comforting, saving. As Isaiah promised, Jesus bore our griefs and carried our sorrows—all the way to the cross (see Isaiah 53:4). And when He rose from the dead, He gave us life and joy forever.

May God make these weeks a time to see, as never before, how much He has loved us.

WE PRAY: Open my eyes, dear Lord, and help me to see Your heart. Amen.

Reflection Questions:

* Is waiting difficult for you?

* Why or why not?

* How do you lean on the Lord when you are suffering?
