In Christ Jesus you are all sons of God, through faith. For as many of you as were baptized into Christ have put on Christ. There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is neither male nor female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus. Galatians 3:26-28
Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ:
The salvation story of Jesus Christ reaches around the world. So that the readers of our Daily Devotion may see the power of the Savior on a global scale, we have asked the volunteers of our International Ministry Centers to write our Friday devotions. We pray that the Spirit may touch your day through their words.
In Christ, I remain, His servant and yours,
Kenneth R. Klaus
Speaker Emeritus of The Lutheran Hour
At the present time, I participate as a volunteer with Lutheran Hour Ministries in Nicaragua.
As is the case in every office there are many things which are routine. One thing which most definitely is not routine are the visits which take place when some of our brothers and sisters in Christ come from the United States or Canada.
Honestly, those visitors catch my attention.
You see, although they enjoy the sights of our beautiful country, that’s not why they have come. Although they enjoy experiencing the differences in culture, that’s not why they came either.
These folks have come to visit us and act as representatives of the Savior.
Because of what Jesus has done, because He came to save this world of sinners, because He gave His life so we might have life, we are reminded that there is no difference between us.
Because of Jesus, who came to save the world, color and race can create no boundary between Christians. And it is as a redeemed family of faith, we have our solidarity and enjoy the privilege of sharing the Christian message all around the world.
For that reason, I would encourage you not only to pray for people who are around you but also for all the people of the world. Let us ask the Holy Spirit to work on human hearts so Jesus may always be the bridge which unites us without distinction of race or nationality.
THE PRAYER: Heavenly Father, thank You for sending Your Son to be the bridge who unites us with all the Christians in the world. Further, I rejoice that You have entrusted us with the opportunities to share Your love with those who do not yet know their Redeemer. In His Name I ask it. Amen.
