And to bring to light for everyone what is the plan of the mystery hidden for ages in God who created all things, so that through the church the manifold wisdom of God might now be made known to the rulers and authorities in the heavenly places. This was according to the eternal purpose that He realized in Christ Jesus our Lord. Ephesians 3:9-11
Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ:
The salvation story of Jesus Christ reaches around the world. So that the readers of our Daily Devotion may see the power of the Savior on a global scale, we have asked the volunteers of our International Ministry Centers to write our Friday devotions. We pray that the Spirit may touch your day through their words.
In Christ, I remain, His servant and yours,
Kenneth R. Klaus
Speaker of The Lutheran Hour
God had a secret plan and He revealed it. He had a plan for our salvation through Jesus. The apostle Paul was commissioned to announce it, to reveal it to everyone. He had to tell the whole world about God’s plan of salvation.
God reveals His wisdom and His perfect plan for mankind. God knows us, our situation, our spiritual misery, and our evilness. He knows our hearts, our secrets, and our weaknesses. That’s why His plan is perfect: it doesn’t depend on us. Jesus is the one who accomplishes everything. Through His redemptive work on the cross, He unites us with God. This is why the apostle Paul goes on to say in verse 12 of the same chapter in Ephesians, “in whom we have boldness and access with confidence through our faith in Him.” With the forgiveness of sins we have received from Christ, we don’t have to fear God. We can be together with Him.
God revealed His secret plan for us. Everyone can be saved through faith in Christ. In Jesus, we have a new life, a new relationship with God. No more fears. No more secrets.
THE PRAYER: Dear God, I know that You see into my heart and love me as I am. Thank You for forgiving me and for my salvation. Please hold my life in Your hands. Amen.
