Women's Ministry

Lutheran Hour Ministries is currently doing research in the area of women’s ministry with the goal of answering two questions:

  1. Is a women’s ministry effort needed in the LCMS?
  2. If the answer to question one is yes, can LHM, in partnership with the LWML, help meet the need for effective women’s ministry?

At this time, LHM is conducting surveys of three different audiences:

  •  LCMS Congregation Survey:
    • To be completed by the pastor or his representative
    • Only one survey entry per congregation, please
    • CLICK HERE to complete this survey
  • LCMS Women’s Survey:
    • To be completed by women in LCMS congregations
    • CLICK HERE to complete this survey
  • National Women’s Survey:
    • To be e-mailed via Zoomerang Sample to women in the United States who are 18 years of age or older

Survey results and reports will be posted on this site in November.

You may be thinking, “It’s obvious why LWML would be working on this project, they are always seeking ways to serve God, women, and the Church.  But, why would LHM (also known as the International Lutheran Laymen’s League) be concerned with women’s ministry?”

Lutheran Hour Ministries is a powerful media organization using radio, video, and Internet resources to reach people in today’s culture in creative and relevant ways.  This is evidenced by the success of their latest endeavor, the Men’s NetWork, which provides high-quality DVD Bible studies and other tools to congregations and men for free at www.lhmmen.com.

With the Spirit’s guidance, and working together, LHM and LWML have the potential to be of great service to congregations in the area of women’s ministry, provided the need for such service exists.

For more information on this research project, please contact Faith Spelbring, LHM’s manager of United States Ministries Program Research and Development, by clicking here, or calling 1-800-944-3450, ext. 4209.  Thank you for your help as we continue to explore new avenues for sharing the Gospel!
