Lutheran Hour Ministries (LHM) is launching its all-new Reach track to equip younger adults to share their faith with their peers! This one-day set of workshops will be held as part of the International Convention of the International Lutheran Laymen’s League (Int’l LLL) and targets 25-35 year olds. This age group is often overlooked and underused by churches. Reach is packed with outreach training workshops and outreach-focused Bible studies.
Reach workshops will be held Saturday, July 26 in Lexington, Kentucky. LHM’s Coordinator of Equipping to Share, Sarah Guldalian, will teach attendees how to regularly and naturally share their faith. Additional Reach workshops include “Singled Out: Serving as a Christian Single in Today’s Culture” by DCE Michelle Connor; “Empowering Your Family to Witness” by Pastor Tony and Jennifer Boos together with four of their children; and two sessions led by Dr. Adam Francisco entitled “Christianity and the World’s Religions” and “Contending for the Faith in the 21st Century.”
The International Convention of the Int’l LLL will be held July 24-27 in Lexington. Reach participants are encouraged to attend as many Int’l LLL convention events before and after Reach as possible, including LHM's ministry presentations, Fellowship Night at the Kentucky Horse Park, and The Lutheran Hour Rally.
For more information on Reach, or to download an Int'l LLL Convention registration form, visit www.lhm.org/reach or contact Faith Spelbring, Reach planner, at faith.spelbring@lhm.org or 1-800-944-3450, ext. 4209. Online registration will be available after March 15.
Scholarships Help Families Attend the International Convention of the Int'l LLL To help young families that might be interested in attending the International Convention of the LLL (as well as the Reach workshops), churches are encouraged to raise funds to sponsor one or more young families’ trips to Lexington.
Family Scholarship participants can attend International Convention and Reach track workshops to learn how they can help reach a dark and dying world through Lutheran Hour Ministries’ many outreach programs. As Christians, we should be sharing our faith on a daily basis since so many people in this world do not know Christ as their Savior, and the International Convention shows Christians how they can actively and intentionally spread the Good News of Jesus Christ with the lost in their own community and throughout the world.
There are daytime activities for children of all ages. This year, children will visit the nearby Creation Museum and participate in other fun activities. Parents and children come together in the evening. The convention allows families to worship together and bond with other Christian families. Attendees also learn about how LHM’s outreach resources can benefit their church.
Churches should raise about $1,200 for each family (includes lodging, registration fees, meals, and events). For planning and fundraising ideas, please visit www.lhm.org/convention/scholarships.htm.
