| Share Christ through LHM’s ‘Global Care Packages–Uruguay’ |

 It is that time of the year again—back to school! For many children in Uruguay, the back to school season does not bring as much excitement because they cannot afford to go shopping for a new backpack, a new lunchbox, or even new pens and notebooks.
Your students and church members can help Uruguayan students by picking up one extra of each school supply item, plus a toy, and packing them up in a Global Care Package box along with a personal letter. Lutheran Hour Ministries (LHM) will then add Christ-centered spiritual material to each box and ship them to Uruguay. More than 12,500 Global Care Packages boxes have already been ordered by churches, schools, and individuals who want to share Christ’s love with needy children in Uruguay.

Serve Christ by Participating in Hurricane Relief Efforts
In September and October, LHM will collaborate with LCMS World Relief, Laborers for Christ, and Orphan Grain Train to send two groups of 30 people each to Camp Restore in New Orleans East, Louisiana, to help with hurricane clean up. Please run the following bulletin sentences in your bulletin or newsletter as soon as possible:
“Join Lutheran Hour Ministries to share Christ’s message of hope through service in hurricane-ravaged New Orleans East, Louisiana, Sept. 6-10 and/or Oct. 4-8. Volunteers ages 16 and up who are able to work hard for three full days are needed to fill two trips of 30 people each. Volunteers are responsible for their own transportation to and from Louisiana and $20 per day for food and lodging at Camp Restore, sponsored by LCMS World Relief. Skilled volunteers are especially needed for plumbing, electrical, and drywall projects. Other projects include painting and removing mud, debris, tree limbs, and furniture.
