Employing the latest in technology, Lutheran Hour Ministries is planning to webcast several of its events from the 89th annual convention of the International Lutheran Laymen's League being held in Billings, Montana, Thursday, July 6 through Saturday, July 8. The Lutheran Hour Rally led by Pastor Ken Klaus, Speaker of The Lutheran Hour, the 75th Anniversary of The Lutheran Hour Banquet, and several of the ministry presentations are among the events that will be available for viewing on the Internet beginning July 8. The video archives will be available for at least 30 days following the convention through a button on the navigation bar of the Lutheran Hour Ministries Web site's home page, located at www.lhm.org.
A webcast uses the Internet to broadcast live or delayed video and audio transmissions, much like traditional television broadcasts, but at a significantly reduced cost to Lutheran Hour Ministries. Except for computer equipment and an Internet connection, there are no costs to the viewer, although the viewer may need to install special software. Experts recommend either a high-speed cable modem or a DSL phone connection for best results.
