Backpacks for Kids LHM would like to team up with your church or school to provide backpacks filled with school supplies for children displaced by Hurricane Katrina through its Backpacks for Kids program. Backpacks for Kids is a great project for your Sunday school class, youth group, or Bible study group. LHM will include age-appropriate spiritual materials with school supplies your church members gather. We will then place all the materials in a backpack and distribute the backpacks to children affected by Hurricane Katrina. To find detailed instructions for LHM’s Backpacks for Kids program, visit www.lhm.org/backpacks. The deadline to receive supplies is Nov. 15, 2005.
LHM has downloadable resources to help your church promote Backpacks for Kids, such as posters, flyers, bulletin inserts, and printable press releases for local media. Post them on your Web site, or print them for your church’s use in Sunday school classes, Bible studies, youth groups, and outreach in surrounding neighborhoods. Access the Backpacks for Kids resources at www.lhm.org/backpacks. Use the link “Click here for printable resources.”
