Laurence E. "Larry" Lumpe
Executive Director
Lutheran Hour Ministries

Laurence E. Laurence E. "Larry" Lumpe serves as Lutheran Hour Ministries' Executive Director, a position he has held since December 2007.

Prior to this position, Lumpe served the International Lutheran Laymen's League (Int'l LLL) as Senior Major Gift Officer from 1996 to 2005 and as Executive Director of Lutheran Hour Ministries, a post he held from 1989 to 1996. Previously, Lumpe was the director of development for the Missouri District of The Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod (LCMS). His background also includes serving as president at several Missouri banks throughout his career. In addition, Lumpe was president of the Missouri Banker's Association and member of the Governing Council of the American Banker's Association.

Lumpe was a member of the Int'l LLL Board of Governors from 1974 to 1988. He served as the Int'l LLL vice president, treasurer, financial secretary, and as a member of various committees and sub-committees of the board.

Lumpe is a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Des Peres, Mo. He has served as president of his congregation, member of the board of directors for the Missouri District of the LCMS, and member of the district stewardship board.

In 1980, Lumpe was given special recognition by the State Senate of Missouri, and in 1988, he was named Outstanding Development Officer for the LCMS.

On Nov. 8, 2007, Lumpe received the Distinguished Service Award presented by the Concordia Historical Institute for exceptional leadership.

Lumpe and his wife, Carol, reside in Grantwood Village in suburban St. Louis. They are the parents of three grown children.
