MORE LOVE
Jesus gave MORE to:
- A man with leprosy (Matthew 8:1)
- Did you know that leprosy made someone untouchable, unapproachable, and unwanted? But Jesus saw this man as someone who needed
to be touched, approached, wanted, and loved.
- Two demon-possessed men (Matthew 8:28)
- Jesus could have ignored these guys (after all, He had withdrawn
to the area for rest), but He didn’t. He proves that
He is the “Son of God.”
- A paralytic (Matthew 9:1)
- Jesus “saw” the faith of the people who brought
this man to Him; in fact, Jesus calls the paralytic “son,”
implying affection and concern.
- Some men sinking in a boat (Matthew 14:22)
- Again – Jesus could have ignored the situation and
done His own thing. But He gave more of himself so that men
might believe.
- Little children (Matthew 18:1)
- Kids were an important part of Jesus’ mission; He
didn’t forget the little ones!
- Two blind men (Matthew 20:29)
- Jesus was a man of compassion; He could have avoided these
men, listened to the crowd, and kept on going. But He gave
more to two men that day.
- Hungry people (Mark 6:30)
- When I’m hungry, I get a headache. As Jesus talk amongst
thousands who were hungry, He gave them food to eat –
so much that there were leftovers! What a great meal!
- More hungry people (Mark 8:1)
- And He didn’t stop with a few thousands; He fed even
more soon thereafter.
- A few ordinary guys (Luke 5:1)
- Ever feel like you’re not good enough? Like you’re
nothing special? Neither were the fishermen that Jesus chose
to be His closest friends and disciples.
- A skeptical, smart, but seeking man (John 3:1)
- Some people seems to have the brains and the education…but
they’re still looking for more. What was Nicodemus looking
for? Something MORE!
- YOU (Ephesians 2:8)
Quite a variety … and quite a few people (and there’s
a lot more!). But how did Jesus give MORE for you? Didn’t
he live 2,000 years ago in the Middle East? The Bible says
that “God so loved the world that he gave his one and
only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but
have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world
to condemn the world, but to save the world through him”
(John 3:16-17).
