The International Convention of the Int'l Lutheran Laymen's League is July 24-27 in Lexington, Kentucky ... and you are invited to attend this great time of worship and fellowship under the theme, "Live by the Spirit" (Galatians 5:16)! In addition to The Lutheran Hour Rally, outreach workshops, and inspiring messages from guest speakers such as LCMS President Gerald Kieschnick and his wife, Terry, Jockey Pat Day, and Comedian Carl Hurley, you will be able to participate in powerful on-site mini-retreats for men and women.
Pastor Ken Klaus, Speaker of The Lutheran Hour, will share alarming statistics regarding Church membership and explain how a new men's ministry currently in development will encourage men to boldly respond to it to address the loss of male leaders in our churches. LHM's men's ministry will be a Christ-centered, Scripture-guided, service-oriented fellowship designed to draw men to the church, deepen their faith in Christ, and inspire them to active involvement in their congregations and local communities.
Woman to Woman Host Phyllis Wallace will lead a women's retreat about how God can lighten your load when life is filled with endless demands. The session will include a Bible study about receiving God's Spirit to fill our darkness with His light and explore how to live with brighter intensity, keener focus, gifted energy, and rekindled hope.
The International Convention also features a Reach track for younger adults to strengthen their witness. Reach will be led by younger Lutheran leaders and will include workshops about conversational evangelism, sharing your faith as a single Christian, empowering your family to witness, articulating differences between Christianity and other religions, and contending for the faith in the 21st century.
