United States Ministries Overview

The Lutheran Hour® (TLH) is the flagship radio program for Lutheran Hour Ministries. This 30-minute broadcast is the world's longest-running Christian outreach radio program. The voice of the program is Pastor Ken Klaus, Speaker of The Lutheran Hour. Proclaiming a changeless Christ since 1930, TLH airs on nearly 800 stations and can be heard online at www.lutheranhour.org.

Bringing Christ to the Nations: The Lutheran Hour is a more contemporary version of The Lutheran Hour radio program recorded especially for broadcast on the American Forces Network. You can listen to this broadcast or download resources specifically chosen for military personnel and their families at www.lutheranhour.org/afn.

Equipping to Share
If you feel tongue-tied and a little fearful when it comes to sharing your faith with others, you are not alone. At LHM, we want you to be ready for those unexpected "mission moments" when God presents you with an opportunity to share His love. Equipping to Share workshops are one-day, Bible-based, and interactive exchanges between trained presenters and workshop participants. Visit www.lhm.org/equipping to learn more.

Project Connect
A Project Connect display is an indispensable, on-site, outreach resource using topical booklets to help church members share the hope of Christ. Each full-sized display holds 24 pocket-sized booklets, and each is written from a Christian perspective. Easily usable in most any church location, these displays provide visitors or church members with relevant information in a discreet manner. You can imprint your church's information on the back -complete with worship times and directions. If you are interested in this excellent outreach opportunity, visit www.lhm.org/projectconnect.

Religious Research
All communities are different and require an approach to outreach that is tailored to the needs of their residents. Understanding your community from a spiritual perspective can be daunting. Lutheran Hour Ministries can provide a six-page demographic and spiritual overview that will make this task more manageable. The report outlines key characteristics defining your community and is extremely beneficial when used to plan your church's strategy for outreach. Used in conjunction with other LHM programs and resources, Religious Research helps lay groundwork for deliberate and focused community action. You can read more at www.lhm.org/profile.

New Neighbor Outreach
Here in the United States people are constantly on the move -both in terms of travel and where they reside. As a result, communities are continually undergoing change. The reasons behind these settlement shifts are many, and they present fresh challenges to any church concerned with its own member growth. New Neighbor Outreach is designed as a systematic, easy-to-follow method for welcoming new arrivals both to your community and to your church. It's a great way to engage volunteers in outreach! To find out more visit www.lhm.org/equipping.

Practicing Hospitality
Practicing Hospitality helps churches discover new and effective ways to provide visitors with a warm and generous welcome. From identifying areas for improvement to planning for simple changes, the welcoming atmosphere in your church will be enhanced. This experiential training program helps participants understand what it feels like to be a visitor and will assist you in avoiding those all-too-common welcoming "faux pas." Practicing Hospitality is an excellent training program for any church! For more information visit www.lhm.org/equipping.

Parenting Families: From ME to WE
New from Lutheran Hour Ministries is Parenting Families: From ME to WE. Created by Christian psychologist Dr. David Ludwig, this six-week DVD series addresses the difficult and exasperating power struggles that often operate within families (ME) and awakens the real strengths of working together (WE). Steering clear of psychoanalytical jargon and highbrow concepts in its presentation, Parenting Families offers its message in easy-to-apply language that allows for immediate application at home. For more information on a Parenting Families event, please visit LHM's Web site at www.lhm.org/equipping or www.parentingfamilies.com.
