Voice of Hope Dispels Despair

LHM—Vietnam director Doan Thanh Truc met Miss Tran Thi Nhu Trang at an LHM Bible Correspondence Course graduation and rally held by the congregation in Can Duoc. He recalls, "we called her name to receive her certificate, but she could not stand and come." Not that that deterred her.

Miss Trang had been paralyzed as a child, and as she was growing up, this took an emotional and spiritual toll on her. "She told us she has been filled with sadness and depression her whole life," Truc relates. "She could not play or jump rope as a child. And she questioned what kind of God would allow this to happen."

But a friend introduced Miss Trang to the Bible Correspondence Course offered by LHM's Vietnam ministry center, which is known locally as Voice of Hope. Truc says, "Miss Trang was encouraged when she learned about Jesus, who healed those with sickness like herself." Through Voice of Hope, Miss Trang became connected with the Can Duoc congregation, where she participates regularly in worship and in Bible studies with the congregation's youth.

"Now I feel happy because I have a Savior who loves and takes care of me," says Miss Trang. "He prepared me for eternal life in heaven, and I'm not desperate anymore. Thank you for your programs."
