The 'Daily Devotions': Bite-sized Bits of Power from God's Word
One might consider LHM's Daily Devotions a little thing—just a few lines of commentary penned by Pastor Ken Klaus based on a passage of Scripture and tied up with a prayer at the end. Their impact, however, as we learn from readers or listeners just about every week, is powerful and steadying.
Whether it's the female college student who "avidly reads the daily devotions" and appreciates their "encouragement," or the gentleman who writes to tell us "Thank you for your daily message of salvation and the weekly message of hope," the Daily Devotions are a welcome spiritual lift that touches people where they are and in what they do. The following note is from a subscriber who knows the truth of that:
"I started to receive Daily Devotions from LHM a few months ago on my Blackberry® just to see what they were about. I was born and raised Missouri Synod Lutheran. I am a criminal investigator and investigate crimes against children regarding physical abuse, sexual abuse, and homicide. As the economy has worsened, my caseload has increased concerning family members physically abusing their children. I listen to the Daily Devotions to get me through the day when the cases get really bad. I really have found strength and comfort in God's Word through these devotions. It is a reminder to me that God is with me walking beside me and He gives me strength to help these children. What a powerful feeling! Just thought you'd like to know."
