LCMS Initiatives

Ablaze! is the mission initiative of LCMS World Mission to share the Good News of Jesus Christ with 100 million unreached or uncommitted people by the 500th anniversary of the Reformation in 2017. Ablaze! began as a vision of LCMS World Mission to involve every member of the LCMS, its partner church bodies, and partner mission agencies in one focused and concentrated effort to share the Good News of Jesus Christ.

Ablaze! is a mission vision with the hope of starting a mission movement. Each participant is challenged to pray about its own particular situation and the part of the mission endeavor it can impact. The participant then designs a strategy to contribute to reaching 100 million people and to develop mission models that work and can be shared with others.

Lutheran Hour Ministries is currently in discussions with the LCMS to determine ways that LHM can support this important initiative. For more information about Ablaze!, visit www.lcms.org/ca/mission/ablaze/index.asp.

Conversations of Grace is an annual personal evangelism conference sponsored by the Rocky Mountain District of the LCMS, LLL, LWML, OAFC (Ongoing Ambassadors for Christ), and Thrivent. For more information about this conference, contact Bob Phillips at 1-303-443-1442 or Pastor Mark Larson at 1-303-695-8001.

One Mission—One Message—One People is LCMS President Gerald Kieschnick’s vision for the LCMS to be a church in One Mission by communicating the One Message that Jesus Christ alone is the Savior of the world as One People united for the faith of the Gospel.
