BCC graduate shares lessons on rural radio
Release No: 07-47
By Noel Hwande

Jun. 12, 07— YAOUNDÉ, Cameroon: When Meva Awoundja graduated from the Bible Correspondence Course (BCC) in 2006, he was so excited that he wanted to share his joy and all that he had learned with as many people as possible.

First he told his wife about it. He also talked to two friends. Then the four of them came up with a plan to broadcast the BCC content to their whole community.

In January 2007 Meva, his wife and the two young men were allotted a weekly 15-minute radio slot by a small rural radio station in Endom, a village near the capital city of Yaoundé. Using the text and questions from the BCC lessons, they started to proclaim Christ’s Gospel message to listeners. Since the BCC materials in Cameroon are printed in French, the program was especially helpful to people who could understand the language, but not read or write it.

“Our intention was also to tell people about LHM—Cameroon and their programs,” said Meva. “The BCC (program) has changed my entire life.”

Meva has since volunteered to be LHM—Cameroon’s contact person in Endom and hopes that he can continue to broadcast LHM programs at the radio station.

To all of those who send their prayers and gifts of support to LHM—Cameroon and other LHM ministry centers, a sincere thank you from all of the staff and volunteers. They kindly ask for your continued support.
