God’s Word, through LHM radio program, averts suicide Release No: 05-39 By Gerald Sonnenberg
Jun. 21, 05 CAIRO, Egypt: All people are sinners. However, many people do not necessarily feel guilt or the desire to stop committing even the most common of sins. Nivine is not one of those people.
Nivine said his life was “devastated and in ruins” because of sins many people do not think twice about.
“I lived in hell every day; cussing, swearing, (through) TV, and by having evil thoughts. So many things that didn't please God,” said Nivine.
He lived in despair and because of his guilt, as well as for other reasons that only God knows, Nivine was convinced suicide was the only answer. He tried taking his own life more than once.
“But each time, the Lord's hand was stronger, and He saved me.”
On Dec. 2, 2004, Nivine said his life was “transformed” when the Lord touched him through a sermon he heard on a Lutheran Hour Ministries (LHM) radio program called “Words of Light.”
“The Lord gave me new life,” said Nivine. “And those near me noticed it, too. They began to ask me about the reason for my change.”
Nivine joined and attends a Christian church in his region.
“May the Lord bless Lutheran Hour Ministries’ work more and more,” said Nivine. “I ask for your prayers.”
