Bible Correspondence Courses Renew Faith in Russia Release No: 10-29 By Megan Murphy
Jul. 27 ST. PETERSBURG, Russia: Bible Correspondence Course (BCC) graduate Victoria Zlobina recently sent a letter to Lutheran Hour Ministries (LHM)-Russia and shared this story:
"Although I was raised in the Orthodox church and I attended services regularly in my hometown of Chita, I fell away from the faith when my father died suddenly. For several years after that, I was angry with God and I blamed Him for taking my father from me. I left the church and even stopped wearing my cross necklace, which every Orthodox Christian should wear.
However, even though I gave up on God, He did not give up on me. Shortly after, my sister-in-law began encouraging me to return to church and I was also introduced to LHM's Bible courses.
The BCC lessons have been a blessing to me, both now and during that dark time in my life. I am more familiar with the Scriptures after studying the lessons, and I find it easier to learn passages by heart. Although I used to only be interested in the Book of Psalms, but now I am interested in studying the whole Bible.
The Bible courses are an excellent way for people to learn more about the Lord and strengthen their faith through Bible study. LHM also helped me to find a Lutheran church in Ingria, which I now attend regularly. This has brought me closer to other believers and opened up a new environment for Christian study and reflection.
Thank you for providing the free Bible courses. They have been a valuable resource for me in my walk of faith, and I know they can help other people as well. Please keep in touch in the future."
Your continued prayers and support for LHM allow outreach programs to have an impact all around the world. We ask that you prayerfully consider a gift to our International Ministries today.
