Volunteer helps change lives in Thailand

Oct. 15— BANGKOK, Thailand: "Nancy" came to know about the Lutheran Hour Ministries (LHM) ministry center in Bangkok through the ministry center's monthly magazine. A self-described shy person, Nancy belongs to a local Baptist church where the magazine is delivered.
LHM staff visited the small rural church delivering informational materials to the congregation. As Nancy read the magazine she came to appreciate and personally participates in LHM—Thailand's program called, "One Baht a Day Piggy Bank Ministry," which helps raise funds for LHM evangelism efforts. A Baht is the Thai denomination of currency.
"I thank the Lord that I came to know LHM—Thailand from the quarterly magazine sent to our church. I can see that the ministry to share the Good News about Jesus, which is very beneficial whether it be evangelizing through different medias, or providing training to gain new knowledge," said Nancy.
She said that because she is not a talkative person, she finds it difficult to witness to strangers. However, she volunteers to witness to people she knows. As a result, she wants to support LHM in evangelizing and is starting by donating stamps. She plans to also volunteer to help distribute the Piggy Bank program.
When it comes to her own donations, she says "Even though this is a small amount of money, I believe that God will bless the ministry and bring much fruit." She encourages others to share in evangelizing by using the piggy bank program so that the Good News of Jesus Christ can reach many people who do not yet know Jesus Christ.
Nancy is a person who has a desire to evangelize for LHM by sharing the Good News. She is a blessing to the ministry. She plans to continue to support the ministry and serve God by spreading the Good News. The efforts of volunteers like Nancy make a difference to not only the efforts of LHM, but also to many people in Thailand.
