Woman Finds Joy in Christ After Years of Despair Release No: 09-43 By Noel Hwande

Aug. 27 HO CHI MINH CITY, Vietnam: Lutheran Hour Ministries (LHM)-Vietnam recently held a graduation ceremony and rally for Bible Correspondence Courses (BCC) students at the Can Duoc congregation. It was there that, the LHM-Vietnam director, Doan Trunh Truc, had a particularly memorable introduction to one of the graduates named Miss Tran Thi Nhu Trang.
"We called her name to receive her certificate, but she could not stand and come up to the front as she was paralyzed as a child," Truc recalled.
Miss Trang went on to share her life story, saying that her whole life she has been filled with sadness and despair because she could not play jump rope with all the other children. She questioned why God would allow this to happen and grew up living a life of depression.
A month ago, a friend introduced Miss Trang to LHM's BCC and invited her to church. Miss Trang says that she was encouraged to learn about Jesus, who healed those who were paralyzed just like her. She trusted in God, and through the power of the Holy Spirit, believed in Him.
"Now I feel happy because I have a savior who loves and takes care of me," Miss Trang rejoiced. "He prepared me for eternal life in heaven and I'm not desperate anymore. Thank you for your programs."
Miss Trang now attends regular weekly worship and Bible studies with the youth in Can Duac church. Please pray for her to stay strong in her faith.
Your continued prayers and support for LHM allow outreach programs to have an impact all around the world. We ask that you prayerfully consider a gift to our International Ministries today.
