A woman's rage turns to love Release No: 09-18 By Gerald Sonnenberg
Mar. 3 PHNOM PENH, Cambodia: Ket is a 28-year-old merchant, and she says she was an angry woman. Her rage seemed to be directed at anyone and everyone.
"I was a sinful person; hot-blooded and impatient," Ket described herself. "I quarreled and fought all the time, especially when I heard someone said a bad thing about me." Her lack of patience and angry outbursts were so common that her parents took her to a local physician. These visits cost them dearly with seemingly no results.
A local Lutheran Hour Ministries (LHM)-Cambodia volunteer came to share God's Word in Ket's small town. For some reason, Ket felt anger toward the volunteer who talked about forgiving sins and the salva-tion of Christ Jesus.
"I did not believe what he evangelized," she said. "But one day God did a wonderful thing for me. He opened my eyes as I was trying to read the Bible Correspondence Course (BCC) lesson books that the volunteer gave me. I found that the words of God are very wonderful, and have much power to transform people's hearts - especially my heart."
Ket said there were times that she would pray for help, but she didn't know who to pray to. Ket is thankful to LHM. She and her parents have since been brought to faith in Christ by the power of God's Spirit. Ket has also completed the Bible Correspondence Course.
The LHM-Cambodia staff said that Ket and her family are planning to help distribute the BCC lesson booklets to others as well. "We love Him and would like to help Him reach others," Ket rejoiced.
Your continued prayers and support for LHM allow outreach programs to have an impact all around the world. We ask that you prayerfully consider a gift to our International Ministries today.
