Music helps guide a restless spirit

Jan. 30— HO CHI MINH CITY, Vietnam: There are times for many people when everyday life can interfere with our faith, causing our relationships with God to take a back seat. For Mr. Hung, this was the case.
In 2006, Hung says his life was very busy, and, for him, he felt too busy to take the time to go to church. He always seemed to find an excuse not to go, and his wife was upset with him because of this. At one point, he left his home in Paris to visit his relatives in Vietnam.
Through his brother, Mr. Hung was introduced to LHM during his visit in Vietnam. There, his brother regularly attended church with a staff member of the Lutheran Hour Ministries (LHM) ministry center in Ho Chi Minh City. Hung found comfort listening to LHM's music CD, "Re-found Belief." Mr. Hung eventually returned home to Paris and to his family. Back in Vietnam, his brother often updated the staff of LHM-Vietnam ministry center about how Mr. Hung was doing in France.
Mr. Hung began to order LHM music CDs and literature and have them shipped to France. Over time, he seemed to rediscover what was missing in his life and resumed worshipping with his family in their home church. The brother now says that Mr. Hung's life has been changed. Mr. Hung said, "I witnessed the touch of the Holy Spirit through LHM's songs, and I sing them in the services at my church in Paris."
In July 2008, Mr. Hung returned to Vietnam on vacation with his daughter and his grandson. He had the opportunity to visit the LHM-Vietnam ministry center and thank the staff personally.
"He joyfully told me of his happy family, his spiritual life, and the works of his church, and he excitedly talked about his singing at conventions in many European countries," said a staff member. "He came to our gift shop to buy all 10 of our music CDs! He said that he would introduce our new songs in the services at his home church." Please pray for Mr. Hung as he continues his journey in faith.
