Young man takes God's Word on the road

Jan. 20— VIENTIANE, Laos: It is the hope of Lutheran Hour Ministries (LHM) that its efforts, through the power of the Holy Spirit, will help others come to know the love of God, and that those people will carry that message to others. Songtham is 23, and he is doing just that by taking God's Word on the road.
A devoted listener of the LHM-Thailand radio program that reaches many communities in Laos, Songtham often wrote to the LHM-Laos ministry center about his struggles with relationships, alcohol, and drugs and asked for advice in tackling these problems. He became a Bible Correspondence Course (BCC) student, finished the courses, and then began communicating God's Word to his friends in other communities. Many of them have since become BCC students themselves.
Songtham had not written for some time when he suddenly showed up at the LHM-Laos ministry center in Vientiane to let them know he was enlisting in the military. It turns out his lack of communication only meant he had been very busy bringing God's Word to others. Not only was he getting others to enroll in BCC, he was also talking to teens at a youth camp and recommending BCC to any of them who were interested in learning about Christ. He was also attending church regularly.
Songtham is now in the military and regularly contacts the staff of LHM-Laos from his military camp. He continues to talk about God to his fellow soldiers. Please remember Songtham in your prayers as he continues to trust in the Lord with all his heart.
