Jan. 9— BANGKOK, Thailand: Siripen was unhappy with her life. Her family had just moved to a distant city because her father was having trouble finding work. For an only child this meant making new friends in an unfamiliar place. Worse yet, one of her close relatives died leaving Siripen wondering if there was a better life after this. What happens to people after they die? What is the meaning of life," Sirpen asked. Her former religion failed to give any clear answers, so her search continued.
One day she came across an LHM booklet called "Power of Life." Siripen had overheard a girl talking about Christianity in High School, but she didn't know anything about it. Siripen read the booklet and was intrigued. She called the number on the back of the booklet and got in touch with Lutheran Hour Ministries (LHM) in Thailand, known locally as Journey into Light.
The LHM-Thailand staff suggested she enroll in Bible Correspondence Courses if she wished to know more about Christianity. Siripen received the first lesson and it answered many of her questions, yet for every one it answered, it posed more. Her intrinsic desire to learn more about God saw her enrolling in even more lessons.
Bible Correspondence Courses allow people of all ages, faith, and education to explore Christianity. These themed studies not only educate people about God, but also offer a foundation on which their faith can grow.
Siripen is currently finishing Lesson 3. Her life has been transformed and now she is full of hope. She wrote to LHM-Thailand stating, "I came to know the salvation God provides us through Jesus Christ and now I have a definite answer about what happens to life after death."
LHM-Thailand referred Siripen to a local church, where she now attends worship regularly. She tells LHM-Thailand staff that Jesus is the only one with the true answers to the questions in her life. Please pray for Siripen that she can grow her Christian life and help others to live in this life as well.
