Michigan Campus Group Works
with LHM's Nicaragua Ministry Center

Last March, the staff of LHM-Nicaragua extended a warm welcome to a student Global Work & Witness team from Martin Luther Chapel in East Lansing, Mich. Martin Luther Chapel is the LCMS campus ministry center at Michigan State University.

The student volunteers worked in El Pastal, a village outside the western city of León, building a facility to provide Bible courses for local children. They also visited a number of schools in neighboring communities and learned firsthand, through games, music, and other forms of interaction, how Lutheran Hour Ministries' Project JOEL youth-oriented program is impacting the lives of children and youth in Nicaragua.

"We felt like a part of each community the moment we arrived," say group leaders Courtney Gluski and Dave Lueders. "It was a wonderful experience to share Jesus Christ with our Nicaraguan brothers and sisters."

LHM's Global Work & Witness trips have introduced Lutherans from the United States to the ways we share the story of Jesus in many countries throughout of the world. Now part of LHM's Global Impact program and renamed Global Impact volunteer trips, these international servant events continue to offer participants an up-close look at LHM's mission of Bringing Christ to the Nations-and the Nations to the Church.
