Dear Friends in Christ:
As the Speaker of The Lutheran Hour, I am privileged to introduce a unique anniversary trip to Germany, the Land of Luther. It is unique because, in preparation for this trip, LHM Executive Director Bruce Wurdeman, Trans World Travel President John Gibbs and I went to the Reformation states of Thuringia and Saxony-Anhalt. During that time we selected our hotels and we visited with the Presidents of both States. They helped us plan this trip which celebrates the upcoming 500th anniversary of the Reformation.
If you have never been to Germany you will find this trip incredibly complete. Of course we will visit those places which are most important to those who love Luther’s Theology and Bach’s music. But we will also see the Bavarian Alps, Oberammergau, Hitler’s Mountain retreat and mad King Ludwig’s Neuschwanstein Castle. We will be impressed by the ancient city of Augsburg and the modern metropolis of Berlin. And we will step off the beaten path to offer cultural activities that are most special.
But this trip remains unique even for those who have been to Germany. For 83 years The Lutheran Hour has preached a changeless Christ to a changing world. On this tour, for the first time, we will record sermons at the Castle Church of Luther and the home church of the martyr Dietrich Bonhoeffer for use in future broadcasts. What an awesome honor and privilege it is going to be for Pastor Klaus and I to preach at these historical locations in front of our fellow travelers!
As is the case with all our Lutheran Hour Tours, most meals are included as is the cost of tips to all guides and bus drivers. Novice and veteran travelers read on and then join me on this Reformation Anniversary Tour to Germany.
In Christ, your fellow traveler,
