Share HIS Story 92nd International Convention
July 16-19, 2009
Greensboro, North Carolina

The 92nd International Convention of the International Lutheran Laymen’s League will meet in Greensboro, North Carolina, July 16-19. The convention theme “Share His Story” is based on Psalm 66:16, which says, “Come and listen, all you who fear God; let me tell you what He has done for me.” It is our hope that convention attendees will be emboldened to share the story of salvation with those who don’t know God.

Speakers and events include the ever-popular Pastor Ken Klaus, Speaker of The Lutheran Hour; the Petal Pushers Build-A-Float Party; and workshops to empower you to “Share His Story” with your family, friends, and others around you.

Convention Highlights

On Family Night, join us for a blast from the past: a visit to simpler times, a re-creation of the town of Mayberry from The Andy Griffith Show. If you’re not careful, Barney may issue you a citation, Floyd may tell you your hair is too long, and Otis … well, Otis will be Otis. Mayberry Night includes carnival games, entertainment, good Southern cuisine, and an up-close and personal view of Andy’s squad car!

Younger adult attendees of the convention, single and married, are invited to attend Reach, a conference within the convention, developed to address this generation’s unique outreach challenges. Reach 2009 takes an environmental tone, delving into the question of how Christians should view themselves in relation to the world around them.  Bible studies and workshops will equip this generation to participate in conversations about the environment while sharing their faith and answering questions that often surface during discussions about creation and evolution.

You have a variety of options for traveling to the convention. Fly into Greensboro, Raleigh-Durham (1 hour away), or Charlotte (2 hours away). Greensboro also has an Amtrak station located about 7 miles from the convention hotel.
