Many people make decisions and judgments today based
on their feelings. One moment they "feel" forgiven
and that everything is all right, the next minute, or
when their conscience is giving them a hard time, they
don't.
The only way you can be certain God forgives you and
accepts you as His child is to move away from your own
shifting sand feelings to the solid rock of God's Word
- the Bible. There we read that God sent His Son, Jesus,
to pay the price for all of our sins and "if [you]
confess [your] sins, God, who is faithful and just, will
forgive [your] sins and cleanse [you] from all unrighteousness."
Are you sorry for whatever you have done wrong? Do you
believe that Jesus paid the price for your sins? Then
you can be certain that you are forgiven. God will not
punish you for what has already been paid. That is the
promise in His own Word. And that is where your certainty
of forgiveness is found.
