Asian Americans are one of the fastest-growing ethnic groups in the United States. A broad term, "Asian American" includes Asian Indian, Chinese, Filipino, Japanese, Korean, Vietnamese, and those from other Asian countries who came here for study or newly immigrated.

Even though there are many differences, all Asian Americans experience culture shock. They must face the challenge of a new language. They come from different religious backgrounds. And no matter what kind of professions they are engaged in, they have anxiety to deal with, stress to manage and many other difficulties to overcome.

Often they are lonely and homesick-thinking about the relatives they left behind. And like all of us, they have spiritual needs.

There are many opportunities for international outreach right in your own community. The Asian Ministries at Lutheran Hour Ministries is here to help. We would like to build a website offering a variety of printed and electronic resources-in English and Asian native languages. We pray that these resources can be used to introduce Asian Americans to the Gospel. Join us as together we connect the hurting and lost to local congregations.
