This month's Ambassador e-mail focuses on our International Ministries, including articles about Global Work & Witness and Lutheran Hour Ministries' (LHM) Ministry Tours. Please keep LHM's International Ministries in your prayers as we bring the Gospel into places where the message of Christ is often not welcome.
To read about individuals who are impacted by LHM's International Ministry Centers, you can subscribe to LHM's International Weekly e-newsletter by visiting www.lhm.org/newsroom/newsletters.htm and clicking on International Weekly, which is the seventh bullet point.
Also, a few new developments from LHM's Ministry Advancement department are also included in this letter. These are great avenues that God has opened to LHM to further our mission of sharing Christ.
Thank you for sharing Christ in your community and the world through LHM, Faith Spelbring, Ambassador Manager |

| LHM'S FEATURE PROGRAM: 'GLOBAL WORK & WITNESS' |
Global Work & Witness is an LHM program designed to offer congregations the opportunity to do short-term missions work in another country. This unique opportunity challenges and encourages volunteers as they partner with one of LHM's 40 ministry centers, doing ministry in countries such as India, Thailand, Guatemala, Slovakia, and Nicaragua!
Participants share Christ with others and provide much-needed help on projects that would not otherwise get done, like drilling a well, building a school, or teaching Vacation Bible School. Projects like these can revitalize a community and boost the effectiveness of the LHM ministry center in that country. Global Work & Witness trips have a profound impact on you, your congregation, and LHM's global outreach efforts!
LHM oversees all logistical details and manages the project in the host country. We also provide high quality DVD-based volunteer team training prior to the trip.
As a former church worker, I can testify to the hard work that goes into planning a mission trip that makes a lasting impact! LHM makes life easier for churches by coordinating virtually the entire trip. Housing, food, jobs that need to be done... all of this and more are taken care of by LHM in conjunction with our International offices. Churches can focus on publicity and fundraising knowing that LHM has coordinated all of the details.
SO HOW DO WE GET STARTED?
- Call Jeanne Lawrence toll-free at 1-800-752-9636, ext. 4168 or send an e-mail to jeanne.lawrence@lhm.org to get the ball rolling.
- LHM's fall Bulletin Insert also features Global Work & Witness trips. Make sure this insert makes it into your church bulletin. If your church does not receive our Bulletin Inserts, call 1-800-876-9880 to subscribe.

| INTERNATIONAL 'MINISTRY TOURS' |
LHM Ministry Tours are an amazing way to see ministry in action and experience first-hand what the Lord is doing though LHM in other countries!
On Feb. 5-14, 2009, LHM is conducting a tour of Nicaragua and Panama, including the city of Granada, Flamenco Island, the Old Quarters of Panama City, the Panama Canal, visits to our ministry centers, and more! You and your congregation are invited to join us and see the beautiful sights and sounds of these countries, and witness the amazing ministry God is doing.
In Panama and Nicaragua, local LHM staff and volunteers share the hope of Jesus Christ through printed materials, outreach training, and face-to-face encounters. Programs include Project JOEL, a ministry that engages youth with a valuable biblical perspective on life's choices, as well as Equipping the Saints, evangelism training that equips volunteers with materials and resources to reach the lost in their own country. In Panama, they have enriched Bible Correspondence Courses by sending volunteers to give personal lessons to people longing to know the Savior!
LHM Ministry Tours are managed by professional tour agencies. Your Tour Leaders will include LHM Latin America area counselor Ken Peterson, local ministry directors, and experienced LHM staff.
Call now for more information about LHM Ministry Tours; first payments are due Nov. 7, 2008! Contact Jeanne Lawrence toll-free at 1-800-752-9636, ext. 4168 or via e-mail at jeanne.lawrence@lhm.org. |

| WILLS CAMPAIGN |
You may have seen an insert in the fall edition of The Envoy newsletter. It encourages individuals to consider supporting our ministry beyond their lifetime by including Lutheran Hour Ministries in their will or trust. Without specific directions for how your estate should be handled, your wishes can often be ignored. You can call LHM to get a kit that will help you organize all of the information you need to create a will or trust with an attorney of your choice.
What do I do if someone asks me about LHM's Wills Campaign?- Encourage people in your congregation to create a legal will or trust that reflects their wishes and protects their assets.
- Remind them that LHM's Ministry Advancement Officers are available to answer questions about why it is important for them to have a will or trust and how they can support the ministry even after they join our Father in heaven.
- Be ready to provide them with LHM's Ministry Advancement department contact information: 1-877-333-1963 or lhm-gift@lhm.org.

| COMBINED FEDERAL CAMPAIGN |
This fall, Lutheran Hour Ministries will participate in the Combined Federal Campaign (CFC), the world's largest and most successful workplace giving opportunity, available to all Federal civilian, postal, and military employees worldwide! More than 300 CFC Campaigns across the country and around the world will run from Sept. 1 through Dec. 15, raising millions of dollars for participating charities.

See LHM's ad in the "Best of the CFC" newspaper insert, online at www.bestcfc.org, or in your area campaign's CFC brochure. Ask your employer for more information.
